“I’ve been a fan of the Pokemon franchise since Blue Version. I was pretty disappointed with the Pokemon in Black/White and the games have seemed to be getting worse and worse. That being said, Pokemon X has been quite amazing so far.

Although I haven’t gotten very far in the game yet, it’s a completely different feel from any of the past Pokemon games. The battles are very reminiscent of the console versions, which brought back a lot of nostalgia. The graphics are very crisp, and the towns are beautifully designed and very different from Pokemon towns that you might be accustomed to. The new Pokemon are actually interesting so far, and I haven’t come across any poorly-named ice cream cones or garbage bags.

Definitely happy with my decision to buy it, and a good step back in the right direction for Pokemon.”

“I’ve been playing Pokemon since Red and Blue and this one takes the cake! The graphics and music are heads above any previous instalment. The new features were helpful, interesting and most importantly, fun. This game never felt like a grind and with so many options it wasn’t hard to make a great team. The online trading works great and was easy to use. I liked the character customization a lot and it really lets you make the trainer your own. This has officially beaten Soul Silver as my favorite Pokemon game!”

“This is, as yet, the greatest pokémon game Gamefreak has been released! The first notable difference, obviously, is the updated 3D graphics. To see my favorite pokemon (blastoise) in full 3D battle on a handheld device is just amazing! Speaking of 3D, it does not display in some cases, but when it does, battling, say for example, the elite four, make the experience all the more exciting. The animations are smooth and works well with the attacks. Also at first, the story takes the same route as other previous titles have–but then the climax is something to behold for yourself. When you fight the legendary at the end, it feels like you really are fighting a legend. The game is a little easy but the challenge is there. The other features, pokemon-amie and super training, aren’t needed but add depth to the game’s already vast content. Also, you can finally customize your trainer, and I must say, it sure is a treat. If you are a veteran at the games or is just beginning your journey, this game is for you!”

“Great game so far. Nintendo finally added a lot of long needed features like searching your storage boxes by any type of criteria, as well as vastly improved internet functionality. This game doesn’t use the 3D heavily, but it makes great use of the more powerful hardware and larger space on the game cart.

Overall I love the graphics and I love the hundreds of small enhancements as well as Goomy, the best pokemon in the world.”

“At last it is here, the Kingdom Hearts has finally arrived on the PS3 and it brought with it all the enjoyment from the past. It comes with Kingdom Hearts – Final mix (was only in Japan), Chain of Memories, and the cinematics for 365/2 from the DS which tells the story between chain of memories and KH2. All three have been redone for HD – with Kingdom Hearts being completely redone as they originally lost the source code for the game, so they had to do the whole game from scratch with the original soundtrack, voicetrack, and script. This has an extra boss fight and other Keyblades that was not in the original US edition. I have only played the first hour of the first game, and i already have enjoyed it. Controls are the same so no new learning, just have to remember how things work since it has been so long since I played this. “I noticed plenty of negative comments about this game and I’m going to be perfectly honest. From a simulation soccer stand point this is how real the game gets on a soccer field. I’m sure plenty of you played formal soccer games. Ball physics and game speed is fast. You have to think when to move intelligently into space or create it or put some mustard on your pass or shot. In reality, people can miss a sitter (3-5) yards or less. I plead the fifth on that one. Yes, everyone does slice and don’t hit the shot or pass appropriately. You get tired and your hands is on your knees thinking about all the things you can do better. EA wants you to feel those emotions. People say the passing is frustrating and trapping the ball. I have trouble with that in pick up games. That’s real life and FIFA 14 does the same! “Life imitating art.” Soccer is build through the midfield and finish quickly. Also, the game have a heart system or a momentum system that players confidence when receiving or shooting is affected.

I really like the simulation of the game and frustration of not getting the right pass or shot. I feel that I can come back and play the game through better. Shooting and physics is realistic you can simply blast a shot over head and not too much power. All in all, this game is for the soccer purist dream that likes to build attacks and swiftly counter (favorite move!) If your looking for a realistic soccer simulation this is your game. If your arcade, change the settings to a lower challenge level to novice. If your complaining about error in passing turn up the setting to receive passes better. But, taking short cuts is not going to make you a better FIFA pro! So, take the challenge!”

‘Maybe the 99% of people that will play the game in the next 2 weeks, will feel a little slow and clumsy but, you just need to play a few matches to understand this new system… I started to play with the demo, then with the early access version, I have to say that in the beginning, I actually felt clumsy, slow mechanics, awful pass, very hard to score but, in the end, when you just adjust your tactics, you understand de big sack of errors that came with you since earlier versions of this game… the players on the pitch are more creative and there is an incredible AI response, you can see now the CPU making a change of play or retaining the ball to slow down your game. You need to be more estrategic at this point, like it is in the real life with real players o the pitch. Now each player behavior is in line with his stats, I mean, you can run faster with a very fast player, but if the player is not so fast you will feel that the game is slow… try a match at pro difficult between Arsenal (my team) and the Tottenham Spurs… the best match I ever played, a pleasure to get the win to my Gooners by 1 goal to nothing… then tried to beat Bayern Munchen, the the final score was 4 to the Bayern, nothing to my Gooners… I mean, you can play your best, but each team will be different on the pitch, and this is one of the things that I love about this new game, it is just unpredictable… If you like hard challenge, this is a game for you, it is not an arcade football game, this is a game too much adjusted to the reality… try the demo if you are not sure, but I recommend you sincerely to do this game part of you collection… it is just my point of view…

One more thing… the mini games are just AWESOME!!!”

“Madden 25 is one of the most in depth football games I’ve laid my hands on yet! With the brand new infinity engine 2.0, your going to see a huge improvement with the gameplay.

Along side with the gameplay this game has improved most of its game modes as well. For those who like realistic football, this years madden allows you to do owners mode. By doing owners mode you are given the power to do what a typical owner does, from choosing ticket prices to deciding how much you want to charge for your teams jersey and more!!!! Make trades, hire new staff sign free agents and take the field to see how your team shapes out to be against the rest of the 31 teams in the league. Tired of the location of your team? This game mode allows you to relocate your team and pick a brand new name/jersey and stadium for them.

Overall Owners mode is going to keep you occupied for most of the time but if not, you also have the choice of playing ultimate team. More cards have been added into this mode and not to mention a brand new “head-to-head’ season. In this mode you will compete with the community online to see who has the best team in madden. Almost forgot to mention, in ultimate team this year there is a brand new chemistry feature. Whether you want your team to be a long Pass to any of the other 8 team chemistry’s, this feature separates your team from others and gives you more of a challenge to make sure your players will work with each other. Challenge is always good!!!

Madden 25 has done a good job this year but there are still some room for improvement. Overall, its a must buy for all you football and sports fans out there!”

“Madden 25 is a great game if you use the right sliders. Penalty sliders really change the gameplay and these sliders are the key to enjoying Madden 25. Games are very close for the most part and have a lot of great plays on both sides of the ball…user and cpu. Don`t believe all of the negative reviews. You have to try to fine tune the game with the penalty settings. Do not change the user or cpu skill. I really liked the way Madden 13 played. It was a challenge and I`ve got Madden 25 playing just like it. Anyway if you give up on Madden 25 and get rid of it you will cheating yourself out of a lot of fun and a great football experience.”

The Last of Us

The Last of Us is a third-person Survival-Action game and PlayStation 3 exclusive featuring a unique character action driven storyline focused on the unlikely pairing of a young girl and a hardened scavenger in a post-apocalyptic gameworld. The game utilizes multiple gameplay mechanics, including “Dynamic Stealth,” allowing differing possible strategies and techniques in conflicts, resulting in different possible outcomes. Additional game features include AI that adapts to choices and situations, a variety of enemies, a live inventory system, and beautiful graphics.

The Last of Us is a third-person Survival-Action game that utilizes choices in gameplay action to develop the game storyline, as well as the relationship between the two main characters, Joel and Ellie. Finally, game AI react differently depending on the specifics of the player’s actions, making choice in gameplay a major consideration.

“I suck at video games. I love to play any and all, but I genuinely stink. My husband can’t watch me play because it makes him seasick. That being said, this game is phenomenal. It is amazing even for a dreadful player like me. I put it on easy. I put it on auto aim. I still died 387 times throughout the game. I CONTINUED PLAYING! The story line in and of itself makes it almost a necessity to persevere until you figure it out and make it to the next chapter. The story was funny. It was scary. It was heartbreaking. Even though the PS4 is around the corner, the PS3 still has a LOT going for it for the next couple of years with at least 5 highly anticipated EXCLUSIVE titles coming before the end of the year (Beyond: Two Souls, Puppeteer, rain, FFX HD and Gran Turismo 6). Swallow that Xbox fanboys!

I have absolute no rush in getting a next gen system for the foreseeable future as I will wait for them to work out the bugs, lower the prices and release slimmer more efficient versions so I’m counting on my buddy PS3 for plenty of good times for the next 2-3 years at least! Plus, my PS+ subscription is good through 2015 and they will keep supporting the PS3 with free excellent games from its already outstanding gaming library. If you ask me, NOW is the best time EVER to get a PS3. See you online!”

“I gave it a lot of thought about this, its not every day I will spend $300 on something. I wanted a system that could handle games and looked good doing it.

So far the PS3 exceeds my expectations, at first my brother made fun of it saying, my PC would beat that easily! Then he saw the actual PS3 graphics and he was like “dang thats good!”

This runs GTA5 seamlessly. I used a HDMI cable that I had lying around connected to a HD capable television.

“David Cage and the fine folk at Quantic Dream have become known for creating unique and different games (and yes, they’re games), however some people tend to love them and other people find it their mission in life to hate them. Whichever side of the fence you’re on, it’s undeniable that they offer something different from the status quo, and variety’s never a bad thing, especially when it’s this good.

Beyond, much like Quantic Dream’s past games Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain, is a very cinematic game that marries both cinematics and gameplay so that the two aren’t disjointed but interwoven. While you often have free control of the character, this isn’t merely a quick-time event game like some claim, however they are an important aspect to the game. But I’m fine that this isn’t a game like most games where you see an amazing cutscene that builds up the characters and shows the more mundane, perhaps emotional, moments in a character’s life, while the actual gameplay sections interspersed between the cutscenes have you shooting guns and whatnot. Quantic Dream games have the player doing exciting things but also more mundane things that build the characters and makes you care for them since you’re an active participant.

As for the graphics, they’re the best this generation. There are a few texture oddities and whatnot, but it’s overall the most impressive game I’ve seen this generation. The character models and animations are absolutely best in class. Some of the subtle animations of the characters make them feel like real human beings and not merely video game characters. Ellen Page and everyone else involved gave great performances.

Beyond: Two Souls is an emotional journey where you get to truly experience the roller coaster ride and not just watch it play out. If there’s one game you play to finish out this console generation, please make it this one.”

“This game plays exactly like Heavy Rain (but now with co-op option) which is to be expected since its made by the same people. However the story doesn’t proceed like normal. It takes you from middle to beginning, to near the end, and all over the timeline. So you don’t exactly know how things ended up the way they are and you’re always curious about how this all happend. Also like in Heavy Rain the choices you make will decide how the ending plays out.”

“After all of the mixed reviews, I was skeptical going into Beyond Two Souls. I’m glad I don’t just listen to critics reviews. If a game interests me, I’m going to try it out. I just beat the game last night, and I found it thoroughly enjoyable. I’m having trouble understanding why Beyond is getting mixed reviews and Heavy Rain was critically acclaimed. The basic concept is the same. Beyond is an interactive story which is every bit as good as Heavy Rain.

I imagine many found the game’s story a bit too science fiction for their liking. For me, it was awesome. The story is told out of order, similar to LOST’s timeline with flashback and flash-forwards. While this storytelling technique may make it seem Beyond’s narrative is unfocused at first, as you progress through the game, all the little story threads tie together. It’s a beautiful game from start to finish, and I have to recommend it for anyone interested in a compelling and emotional story.”

“I primarily bought the game as a communal stress reliever with my friends, which turned out great. GTA V is expansive and diverse, you could probably spend a few days just exploring the bottom of the ocean. A couple of downsides are that the online play still has a lot of glitches, and all of the online content hasn’t even been released yet. I also don’t enjoy the path game developers have taken towards exploiting consumers for as much money as possible, if you don’t have the limited collectors edition (prices range from $160-280 depending on store) you aren’t allowed access to numerous features including an entire set of cars. A secondary example of money grubbing on Rockstar’s part is the fact that it is mind numbingly difficult to acquire money during online play (my hunch is that they do this to nudge players towards buying cash cards from them). I realise most of the review has been about what I don’t like about the game, but the fact is it’s a fantastic game (even with the bugs and such) which as is stated in the title will have you playing all night until sunrise without even realizing it.”

“My 10 year old son gets much more involved in the game than I do. He buys VC points and add on packages such as all star weekend etc. The right controller is not only used for special moves but also pushing it up will shoot the ball this gives a smooth and in control feeling. Player movement is on point and you really have full control of your player. The European teams are a nice addition. No longer is the music all about Jay Z cause after hearing Allow me to introduce myself about 10,000 times in 2K13 I couldn’t take it anymore. We play this game every single day so why not buy it and go ahead and enjoy yourself. Best to play against an actual opponent. Defense and player movements are perfect. Love this game…..”

“wow. they did it again, the realism is even more on point. the new physics engine is amazing. much more realistic. no more just dunking over everyone. the game has evolved so much since 2k9 when i got on, already excited to see next year.

Yea, the controls are new. go to training camp and learn them. it takes a few games to get use to the new controls, but makes it much more realistic. sure in My Player mode my teammates annoy me by refusing to pass me the ball once i get up around 50 points, but is what it is. People will complain about almost anything. I dont like the soundtrack (radio garbage), but i just mute that and turn on my ipod — problem solved. Yea, few people wanted LBJ on the cover, deal with it. I hated when Kobe was on the cover, but i bought it anyways.

I wish somethings were still around from 2k13, like dream team and such, but overall much better and more realism. If you watch enough BBall on tv you will have a good understanding what you can and cant do right off the bat. take your time going to training camp and you should be fine.”

“I am not sure about everyone else, but i play the game for the actual game. I havent played my player and the assoication modes yet, which I love btw, but I can tell you from the actual gameplay, this game is amazing. The blocks are on point. The steals, the transition offense and defense are all great. It makes you feel like you are whoever you are controling in the game. If your lebron, you find yourself catching up to other players setting up a chase down block where if you are chris paul, you ll find yourself setting up for a steal. Now i have been reading some reviews up here and on other sites and i am not understanding some of your complaints. I read one guys comment in which he said he blew the computer out on the first game he played.

I find this highly unlikely unless he played practice for about 4 hours and played on an easy difficulty. Reason being is that the controls are completly different. You cannot just hop in and do the same thing you were doing last year. The first game i played, I found myself passing out of shots because i did not know the controls, and thought it was like last years. Mind you, i was playing aganist a friend online who had the game for the whole day and had known what to do, so it was a bit bad for me. Any way, i am also not sure as to why people are so mad about the lack of changes in those modes. They were great last year. My player could have used a touch up or two, but if its not broke, why fix it? Why go in and make changes to a great system? Thats just my opinion.

To wrap up, I really do love this game. I will get to spend some more time with it after work, but from the 2 games i played, it feels so good. The timing of the shots, the movement of the players, the blocking system, the ablilty of the ball to always be live and touchable, these things and more are why i feel this is a great game.”

“Disney Infinity is the first serious attempt to take on Activision’s all-conquering Skylanders series. There are obvious similarities – both use toy figures and a USB peripheral – but Disney’s effort requires you to purchase physical tokens to upgrade your in-game heroes (sold in sealed foil packs that make doubles – and the need to swap them – inevitable. Disney Infinity also promises more complex gameplay. Its story mode comprises a collection of adventures themed around different franchises including the Incredibles, Monsters. Inc and Pirates Of The Caribbean. Activities are varied – platforming, seafaring, brawling, city management, racing and campus exploration feature in the Starter Pack alone – but unlike with Skylanders, players can only use characters from the featured film franchise in their respective levels.

The freeform Toy Box mode, however, lets players combine characters as they invent their own adventures with game creation tools and objects earned during the main game. Both modes support two-player split screen and four-player online collaboration.”

“This game is so much fun and there is so much to do. My husband and I played for hours and barely scratched the surface. I love Disney so of course I was intrigued. We have a bunch of characters so we played co-op most of the time. It was so nice that we could both do our own things or help with missions if we wanted. I kind of messed around with Toy Box a little bit. I love doing spins in the toy vault to see what other toys we’ll unlock. Disney was a little misleading here as they said you get thousands of toy box toys. Well, I suppose you do, you just have to unlock them. Still, I love the playsets and the toybox. It’s like a bunch of games in one. Kids will love this game. I’m an adult and love this game. I’m excited to see what new playsets and characters Disney comes out with.”

“Being someone who has actually played this game multiple times at Disneyland (yes its there in innoventions) it was amazing.. My favorite character so far is Captain Jack with his mannerisms. You can even customize his boat. This game is fun for all types of age levels. Im sure in time they will add more characters. It is quite similar to skylanders however we are more familiar with the disney characters versus the skylanders characters which makes it more fun for all. You and your little ones will not be disappointed.”
